26th  Dennis Survival Ju Jitsu Israel Championship

In the memory of DSJJ members and friends who are not with us anymore and

In the memory of Eli Cohen "Our man in Damascus" who was hanged 40 years ago by the Syrians.

 

On Saterday, May 21st 2005, from 8am to 7pm, the 26th Dennis Survival Ju Jitsu was held in the Beer Sheva center with over 400 participants

Girls and boys up to 15 years old

Youth: from 15 years old to 18 years old - All grades, including black belt.

 

Grown ups up to brown belt

Over 35 years old, up to brown belt

Grown ups, over 35 years old ,black belt

Grown ups, over 50 years old, black belt

Over 18 years old, black belt

 

4 mats going continiously, 2 minutes a fight and 30 seconds extra time if draw. If some of the children weight categories there were over 20 contestants per weight. In addition to the the combat championship, a self defense demonstration competition was held. This competition consisted on the presentation of the the whole Dennis survival ju jitsu system (judo, karate, ju jitsu, aikido, full contact techniques, knives guns and sticks, strangulation and locks with an emphasis on self defense). 15 clubs took part in the championship and there were over 700 spectators. Medals and cups were given to the best fighters and technicians.

 

The opening was a grand mass demonstration of all the contestants and Dr. Dennis Hanover leading them .

This year the championship was dedicated to Eli Cohen' "our man in Damascus" who was executated 40 years ago by the Syrians. Dennis Survival Ju Jitsu family join Maurice and Sarah Cohen in their international efforts tobring back to Israel Eli Cohen's remains.
