Gideon Kedari was born
7/11/1945 in Tel Aviv, Israel
Gideon start to learn Judo
when he was 13 years old under the instruction of Roger Metodi. At the
age of 16 he became runner up in the Israeli Judo championship. When he
was 21 years old' as a brown belt in Judo, Gideon went to the Kodokan in
Japan and learn for 5 years. He was bestowed a 4th Dan from the Kodokan
Institude. At the same time, he started to learn Karate at Oyama Kiu
Kushinkai Institude as the First Israeli pupil who studied under Mas
Oyama in Oyama
Dojo. He was bestowed by Kancho Mas Oyama a 4th Dan in
Karate Kiu Kushinkai and was recognized as one of the highest and best
fighters in Europe. He was the first Israeli martial artist who was
given credit for his ability and fighting techniques in the "Black
Magazine". He was recognized as one of the best in "Ice breaking"
techniques.
In 1971, Gideon came back
to Israel and opened Judo and Karate Dojos around Israel and was head of
the Karate grading committee. He was bestowed the tittle of "Sportsman
of the year" in the Judo branch under "Maariv"'s sponsorship. From 1971
up to 1975, he was the Israeli Judo champion.
