I was born in November 1939 in Amsterdam, Holland, where at the age of 16 I started to practice Judo and Ju Jitsu, becoming a qualified instructor in physical education. I immigrated to Israel at the age of 20, and in 1962 I started the first Judo club in Ashdod.

In 1963 I opened the Maccabi Ramat Chen Judo club...one of the very first in Israel, that is still active today and continuing to train children and adults, where I was the head Judo trainer and Club manager.

In 1964 I founded the Judo Association, and formed the first "stripe system" for Judo belts.

Throughout the years as a Judo expert and trainer, I have taught many sportsmen, some of whom have become Israeli champions in Judo and Ju Jitsu. Within the Maccabi Ramat Chen Judo Club I have participated with teams competing in Israel and abroad, and have hosted many world Judo athletes, among them word champions Anton Heisking, and Villim Roska.

Today I hold a hold a Dan 6 in Judo and Ju Jitsu, and still teach Judo In the Maccabi Ramat Chen Club to children and also to children with special needs.
